Beresford Properties Limited is owned and managed by Mike O’Brien and manages an investment property portfolio located in Brighton and the surrounding areas. We have been actively involved in various aspects of the property business since 1986 when we bought our first pub. Since that time we have been involved with property conversions, refurbishments, developments as well all aspects of day to day property management.

We also act as property managers and managing agents of properties for other investors in the Sussex area, including Freehold, Leasehold and Right to Manage Blocks of Flats.

We are focused on long term property management and investment, with the emphasis on reinvesting for the long term, and solving property problems.

We are always looking for more opportunities, both in terms of properties to buy where we can improve and enhance the property, and properties to rent where we can create a solid long term income for property owners.

Current investment plans include the development of co-living properties in appropriate areas of the UK, and the development of projects using permitted development rights in the South East.

We particularly welcome problem properties and challenging issues as we have loads of experience in resolving complex and difficult property problems.

Our original involvement with the property market started with purchasing, refurbishing and running pubs and hotels in Sussex and Kent during the late 1980s, and we are very familiar with the issues involved with this sector of the market.

In the 1990s Mike was the founder and continues to be the Managing Director of the healthcare developer United Healthcare Limited, and he has major experience of developing healthcare properties throughout the UK and Ireland. These projects ranged in size from a £3m therapy centre in Oxted, Surrey to a £140m new hospital in Bromley, Kent and included a £18m pathology/pharmacy laboratory in Derry, Northern Ireland as well as a £65 cancer centre in Hull.

As well as being a property owner/manager Mike is also a qualified chartered accountant and am very familiar with all the funding and tax implications of property transactions. So, always happy to work with owners/investors and their accountants to ensure the most effective tax treatment to minimise tax payable.
